Story Time Chess, the board game that teaches chess to young children, appointed Graham Mottram to handle sales in Canada.
“I am both proud and excited to be partnering with the incredibly talented leadership team at Story Time Chess and the initial reaction to this game has been exceptionally strong,” said Mottram. “Interest in chess has never been higher and Story Time Chess is the only game that easily teaches kids as young as three years of age. We have already secured significant orders with some of the largest retailers in Canada and I look forward to continued success with Story Time Chess and additional games the company is planning to launch later this year and into 2022.”
For ages three and up, the game utilizes stories, illustrations, custom chess pieces, and a specially designed chessboard to communicate the rules of chess to young children. It is based on a chess-teaching method that has been developed over 12 years by New York City-based company, Chess at Three.
Since its launch last year, the game has received accolades from the Toy Association’s Toy of the Year (TOTY) awards, ASTRA’s 2021 Best Toys for Kids list, and the Webby awards. Going forward, president and founder Andrew Kashian said the company intends to expand its distribution in North America and internationally going
“We have high expectations for successful placement online and at retail and have put together an incredibly talented team not only in Canada, but the United States and internationally as well.” he said. “There’s nobody that knows the Canadian market and has relationships with key retailers like Graham and we are pleased to be working with him on sales north of the U.S. border”, he adds.
