Multi-platform entertainment company Wind Sun Sky Entertainment announced two new additions to its core executive team: Jay Bennett as Vice President of Franchise and Creative Strategy and Romney Grant as Senior Vice President.
Based in Vancouver, Wind Sun Sky is helmed by CEO and Executive Producer Catherine Winder, a former LucasFilm executive with additional previous experience at Disney Studios, Fox, and HBO, among others. Recent Wind Sun Sky projects include animated series Invincible — an adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s superhero comics — currently streaming on Amazon Prime; My Singing Monsters Fandemonium live animated variety show based on the mobile game; and the summer camp-themed variety show Camp Bonkers.
Prior to joining WSS, Emmy-winner Bennett has produced page-to-screen, having worked with global broadcasters and Fortune 500 companies including Disney, Netflix, BBC, NBCU, Walmart, and Kimberly-Clark.
“Jay specializes in spearheading and driving innovative cross platform content strategies by blending first-rate storytelling with digital, social, gaming, branded and interactive extensions.” said Winder. “His varied experience allows our team to dig even deeper into the many ground breaking new multi-platform applications we are involved in.”
With a law degree and 10 years of experience as an independent producer, Grant — former VP of Business Affairs at Paperny Entertainment and eOne Unscripted — will leverage her knowledge of the film and television industry as a key strategist in WSS business endeavors.
The WSS executive team also includes: Chief Operating Officer Michael Heard, Chief Financial Officer Darren Battersby, Senior Vice President of Capital Markets Mark MacLean, Vice President of Production Krista Kelloway, Development Executive Julie Dicresci, and Vice President of Finance/Production Accounting Susan Carmichael.
