Rick Greenberg, a toy industry executive with a broad range of C-Suite experience, has been named Chief Executive Officer of RedwoodVentures, maker of hit brands including Smooshy Mushy, Lil’ Fishy’s and GoGoGochas.
Greenberg rose from sales positions to President & CEO of Shelcore Toys where he transformed a domestic operation into a prominent global toy manufacturer. More recently he served as President of Carrera of America, Inc. and was a founder of Wompy’s World of Musical Play. He serves on the Board of Directors of mifold, a portable car seat innovator and Keeping Babies Safe, a national non-profit foundation dedicated to preventing injuries in unsafe sleep environments.
Greenberg replaces Gary King, who has resigned as CEO of Redwood to accept a leadership position with a US-based food company. King will remain with Redwood through October to ensure a smooth transition.
“Rick brings the perfect balance of product knowledge, vision and strategy to help both RedwoodVentures and our global retail partners accelerate growth for the future,” King said. “The future of Redwood is bright and under Rick’s leadership I have no doubt that all of our global partners will be able to benefit from the Redwood product lineup for many years to come.”
Greenberg said, “I’m privileged to have this opportunity to join the excellent team at Redwood as the company is poised for a period of tremendous growth. Our global retail partners are excited about our current and 2021 product lines and we’ll be unveiling several innovative concepts that will drive even more aggressive growth.”
Redwood recently celebrated its 10th anniversary and is known for innovative products and brands such as Defiants, Lil’ Fishy’s, IDo3D, Smooshy Mushy collectibles, GoGoGachas and others. RedwoodVentures has multi-channel distribution in the U.S. as well as 64 countries around the globe.
