Splash Entertainment has named animation industry veteran Mounia Aram as sales agent for the company’s portfolio of kids’ entertainment content across Africa and the Middle East.
Aram, a distribution specialist based in France, recently launched Mounia Aram Company (MAC), a production and distribution firm dedicated to working with producers and distributors to bring animated content to market in the Middle East and Africa.
“We’re very excited to welcome Mounia to the Splash family and look forward to a long and fruitful partnership,” said Mevelyn Noriega, president of Distribution of Splash Entertainment. “Mounia is a well-respected professional with a track record of success presenting and distributing properties in Africa and the Middle East, making her the perfect choice for helping us expand the footprint of our kids’ content offerings in these fast-growing areas of the world.”
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to represent some of the standout shows in the Splash catalog throughout Africa and Middle East,” said Aram. “Splash has an incredible range of engaging content that resonates with kids and families everywhere, and I’m confident that children across Africa and the Middle East will soon become the newest fans of Splash’s family-friendly shows.”
Aram’s more than 15 years of experience in the international children’s animation business includes positions at ShoPro Entertainment, Viz Media Europe, Toei Animation Europe, and Canal+, among other leading companies in the industry. Prior to forming MAC, she co-founded Happy Family Entertainment, a distribution company for which she served as CEO and co-founder.
Aram will attend MIPCOM 2019, October 14-17, and will represent Splash’s portfolio. In addition, she will be part of a panel of industry professionals judging entries for the inaugural Diversity TV Excellence Awards, taking place October 17 in Cannes.
Splash specializes in children’s entertainment as a developer and producer of original animated television series and movies. Most recently, the company announced it will develop, produce, and distribute new animated on-screen content based on the picture book, The Little Shop of Monsters, written by R. L. Stine and illustrated by Marc Brown (Arthur), as well as Stine’s comedy book series, Rotten School. Lookout Entertainment’s Dan Bernard and Yvonne Bernard will serve as executive producers.
