Wham-O Beefs Up Its Sales and Marketing Teams with New Hires
Wham-O amps up its North American operations with the expansion of its sales and marketing teams.
Darren Pike joins the Wham-O team as vice-president of sales and business development. Within this role, Pike will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and creating customized solutions to key customer needs.
A toy veteran with more than 25 years of experience, Pike has a proven record of facilitating long-term business relationships with customers and industry players. He has managed sales and product development with companies such as Hog Wild and Planet Toys. He was also a former principal of Perpetual Play, where he worked with overseas manufacturing and U.S. retailers.
Wham-O also hired Todd Glonek as director of sales, for which he will be responsible for Wham-O business operations in the eastern U.S. Glonek has more than 20 years of experience as a sales executive with a focus on mass, food and drug retail distribution. Most recently he served as vice-president of sales at Playhut.
The Surf Division team welcomed Drake Schoonover as surf brand sales manager. Schoonover brings more than six years of experience in specialty channel sales and marketing, with a focus on the surf industry. He was part of ground-breaking teams with Freedom Artists and Neff Headwear.
Alaia Orlick joins the marketing and design team as a graphic designer. Prior, Orlick worked with various toy companies including Hasbro and Jakks Pacific. Orlick majored in toy design at OTIS College of Art and Design.
