Carrera Names New President
Carrera of America, the manufacturer of slot cars and remote control vehicles, has named Rick Greenberg as president.
Carrera of America is owned by Stadlbauer Marketing + Vertrieb GmbH in Salzburg, Austria. “Greenberg was selected to run the American operations because of his strong, eclectic background in the toy industry,” said Andreas Stadlbauer, president of Stadlbauer Group.
Most recently, he served as the principal and business development advisor for Radiate (R88) LLC, a sales and marketing agency in Basking Ridge, N.J. Prior, Greenberg led the national and global sales teams as the president and CEO of Shelcore toys, where he oversaw a toy manufacturing company with 67 global markets, based in Somerset, N.J. Greenberg negotiated long-term licensing agreements with Universal, Disney, Nickelodeon, DHX Media, WWE, and others, before selling Shelcore in 2006.
“Over his career, Rick has introduced and lead several European toy companies to the U.S. market,” said Roger Balser, managing director. “We are looking forward to Rick leading Carrera’s expansion to meet the many robust opportunities in this unique area of the toy and hobby industry.”
“Carrera slot car racing is steeped in tradition and is a hobby that brings families together. It’s all about speed, competition and action, and Carrera is infusing the latest trends to captivate today’s tech-savvy children as a great hobby and brings families together,” said Greenberg.
