Westman Joins Corus’s Nelvana
Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana announced the appointment of Pam Westman to head of Nelvana Enterprises. Westman will oversee brand development and management across the Nelvana portfolio, including retail management, licensing, consumer products, content sales, and digital on a global basis.
She brings more than 20 years of international industry experience in licensing, consumer products, marketing, and content sales to Nelvana. She will report to Scott Dyer, president, Nelvana, and will have an active role in setting Nelvana’s strategy within the larger Corus portfolio of channels and brands. Antoine Erligmann, who heads up Nelvana’s European office, will report to Westman.
Most recently, she was director, integration for Staples Canada. Prior to that, she was the executive vice-president of HIT Entertainment, where she led the Canadian, U.S., and Latin American divisions through a period of strong growth. She was also part of the senior executive team that completed the sale of HIT to Mattel.
Vásquez Joins Schleich
Luis Vásquez has been named as director of product design at Schleich. Vásquez heads an 11-person design team and is a member of the marketing leadership team. He reports to Victoria Sutch, vice-president of marketing. Vásquez brings extensive international knowledge in the areas of product innovation and design. He joins Schleich from Weber Grills, where he was responsible for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa as director of product management. He previously held various positions with electronic appliance manufacturer Braun in North America and Europe over a period of about 10 years, most recently as global product and program manager. He also gained experience as a process and quality engineer at Gillette and as a production manager at jewelry company Fana in Colombia.
