New Hires at DHX Brands
DHX Brands expanded its team with three key hires across its L.A. and London offices. Kaisa Nieminen has been appointed senior brand manager for North America, based in the Los Angeles office reporting to Tor Bushell vice-president of global brand management in London. Dave Tovey joins in the newly created role of business development manager, EMEA. Danielle Tanton joins DHX in the new role of live events and attractions manager, global, both based in the UK reporting to commercial director Tom Roe.
In L.A., Nieminen will lead brand and marketing initiatives in North America for Teletubbies, Twirlywoos, and Yo Gabba Gabba. Having worked in roles in the U.S., U.K., Finland, and Australia, Nieminen has in-depth experience in international brand marketing, PR, and creative communications. She joins the company from Mattel, where she managed a portfolio of children’s entertainment properties, including Monster High, Ever After High, and Polly Pocket.
Tovey joins the company from Mind Candy where he worked on the Moshi Monsters consumer products campaign across multiple categories, helping it grow to the No. 1 UK toy brand during its peak. Tovey will be charged with working across the full DHX Brands portfolio, with a key focus on In the Night Garden.
Tanton will lead global licensing for live events and attractions across the DHX Brands IP portfolio, including Teletubbies, In the Night Garden, and Twirlywoos. She has a wealth of experience in the preschool market, having started her career in the children’s industry at HIT Entertainment and Mattel. In that role, Tanton was responsible for managing various licensed live shows, experiential events, and theme park attractions across the UK and EMEA, for a range of brands including Thomas & Friends, Fireman Sam, Bob the Builder, and Barbie.
