Michael Acton Smith Shifts Role at Mind Candy
Michael Acton Smith announced in a video posted on Mind Candy’s site last week, that he is stepping down from his operational role within the company. He will move to the creative side of the business in an effort to further develop Moshi Monsters and cultivate other properties such as its recent launches of PopJam and World of Warrior. Divina Knowles, chief operating and financial officer, will step in as president until a new chief executive is found, according to The Financial Times.
Nuccio Named to Inventor Association Board
The United Inventor Association (UIA) has named Design Edge’s Matt Nuccio as its newest board member. Nuccio is president of Design Edge, Inc., which is a product development company focusing on packaging, product design, inventing, engineering, and manufacturing. Nuccio has been a featured speaker at New York Toy Fair, The Chicago Toy and Game Fair, The Hong Kong Toy Show, and ASTRA. In addition he has been featured at various inventor clubs, universities, and art schools.
For four years, Nuccio served as co-chairman for the Toy Industry Association associate panel representing designers and inventors in the toy industry. Nuccio is also a contributing writer for aNb Media’s Toys & Family Entertainment.
