Kyees Joins Board of Hot Topic
Hot Topic, Inc., announced last week that John Kyees has joined its board of directors and will serve as a member of its audit committee. The company now has nine directors on its board.
Kyees brings extensive financial and operational leadership experience to the Hot Topic board. Kyees has more than 23 years of experience as a CFO for specialty retailers including, most recently, seven years as the CFO for Urban Outfitters, Inc. He is currently a director and member of the audit committees of three other publicly-traded specialty retailers: Casual Male Retail Group, Inc., Teavana Holdings, Inc., and Vera Bradley, Inc.
He graduated from the University of Kansas with a B.S. in Business Administration and from the University of Detroit with an M.B.A.
Toei Promotes Azuma
Toei Animation has appointed Iriya Azuma as director of global licensing, business department.
In this new role, he will direct international licensing strategies for its top brands.
Azuma, who joined Toei Animation in 1986, has produced some of the company’s most iconic series, including Sailor Moon and Toei’s first series aimed at an older audience, The Legend of the Gambler—TETSUYA. After serving as executive vice-president at Toei Animation, he oversaw the development of mobile websites for its popular brands, Dragon Ball Z and Slam Dunk.
Cosgrove Upped at JLG
Katie Cosgrove has been promoted to senior brand manager at The Joester Loria Group. She has been with The Joester Loria Group since 2004 managing the licensing programs for various clients.
