Moonbug‘s CoComelon property has joined Maurizio Distefano Licensing’s portfolio and will be launching multiple new consumer product lines in Italy.
New partners for the popular YouTube children’s series include Headu for educational games such as flash cards and tactile cards; Coriex for accessories, OLED for baby products, Multiprint for stamp sets; EasyShoes for branded footwear; and Dulcop for bubbles.
With more than 112 million subscribers to its YouTube channel, CoComelon reaches 44 million views per month in Italy alone. The animated show explores themes and day-to-day activities that are relatable to preschoolers, from mealtime to playtime to nap time. The central character, Baby JJ, and his sibling teach letters, numbers, animal sounds, colors, and more through nursery rhymes in each episode.
“I was immediately impressed by the strength that this property showed also among Italian families, who appreciated its educational content and catchy tunes,” said Maurizio Distefano, President of Maurizio Distefano Licensing. “The increasing number of licensees who chose to develop products leveraging CoComelon just a couple of months after its arrival to our portfolio was further confirmation of this. We can definitely say that the series is having a remarkable and promising debut in the Italian licensing market.”
