Sesame Workshop unveiled a new lineup of product collaborations, in addition to the premiere of its Fun in the Sun video series on Sesame Street’s YouTube channel, sponsored by Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen.
The videos encourage families to enjoy the outdoors while practicing sun safety. Favorite characters Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Abby Cadabby model healthy summer habits by applying sunscreen, wearing protective clothing, and staying hydrated on hot days. Blue Lizard offers an exclusive line of Sesame Street-branded sunscreen products. Consumers can spot Elmo on the mineral baby sunscreen and Cookie Monster on the mineral-based kids’ sunscreen. Both products come in color-changing Smart Bottle or Smart Cap tubes, which turn pink (Elmo) or blue (Cookie Monster) in harmful UV light. Additionally, Blue Lizard and Sesame Workshop are partnering with dermatologists’ and pediatricians’ offices nationwide to encourage a healthy fun summer.
Families can keep their peepers shielded from the sun’s rays, too, with the Sesame Street x DIFF Eyewear collection. For every pair of protective sunglasses or blue light glasses purchased, DIFF will donate a pair of reading glasses to someone in need; since 2015, DIFF has donated more than one million pairs of reading glasses around the world.
Additional collections include:
- Outdoor toys from Green Toys, manufacturers of 100-percent recycled and recyclable toys. The new Elmo’s Wagon complements Green Toys’ existing summer-themed gardening sets, Elmo’s Watering Can and Abby’s Garden planting kit
- The Sesame Street x Tervis collection of insulated tumblers, available in multiple sizes (including sippy cups) feature Tervis’ unique wrap-around printed designs starring Sesame Street friends.
“Summer is a great opportunity for families to enjoy the outdoors and spend extra time together,” said Gabriela Arenas, vice-president of licensing, North America, Sesame Workshop. “We’re pleased to collaborate with our partners on new content, products, and resources that will keep families happy and healthy through all their summertime adventures – with a little help from their Sesame Street friends.”
