Fingerlings Unveils Licensing Program
WowWee’s Fingerlings has inspired a robust consumer products program that will begin rollout this year via its global licensing agent Striker Entertainment. Initial licensees on board for Fingerlings include AllStar Vending, Bioworld, Cardinal, Commonwealth, Innovative Designs, Super Impulse, and Tara Toy with products that include apparel, backpacks, vending, games, stationery, collectibles, and more. The bulk of the licensing program is expected at retail for fall/winter, with some items rolling out as early as this spring.
WowWee is actively developing a media plan inclusive of animation and other internal and fan-generated content that will highlight the adventures, sense of humor, and friendship that make up Fingerlings’ DNA.
Super Impulse Brings Breakfast Monsters! to Toy Aisle
Super Impulse has entered into a licensing agreement for Heidi Kenney’s latest creation, Breakfast Monsters!. Super Impulse will create and distribute a plush toy blind box program to leading national retailers.
Breakfast Monsters! is the latest creation from artist Heidi Kenney. She is known for her top-selling Yummy ‘food with personality’ toy designs. Kenney’s exclusive agent,
Infinity Licensing, LLC, brokered the partnership between Kenney and Super Impulse.
Breakfast Monsters! features Heidi’s trademark art style crossed with a silly, spooky spin on breakfast favorites. The new line from Super Impulse will feature characters such as Zombie Donut and Muffin Mummy, each packed in a miniature cereal box.
Nickelodeon Announces Sunny Days Consumer Products Program
Nickelodeon will debut a robust portfolio of consumer products for its preschool animated series Sunny Days, beginning with a new toy line from Mattel, and the launch of the Sunny Day Tour, an immersive on-ground activation that will travel to cities across the U.S.
Inspired by Sunny and her friends Rox and Blair’s colorful and creative personalities, Sunny Day consumer products will feature the bold color palette from the show and span categories including toy, consumer electronics, home goods, and more. The toy line, created in conjunction with Mattel, includes basic and deluxe doll assortments, accessories, plush, roleplay, and playsets. It will be available as a first-to-market this May at Walmart and will roll out to all other retailers in August.
Additional products, launching later this year, will include apparel, accessories, and dress-up; arts and craft; consumer electronics; games and puzzles; home goods; novelty; publishing and home entertainment; ride-ons and sporting goods; social expressions; and vehicle and r/c toys.
The Sunny Day Tour will kick off at the Bentonville Film Festival in May, and make stops at select Walmart stores across the country during the summer. The interactive experience is free to the public and will include immersive activities, a product showcase, and content screenings.
Nickelodeon has also greenlit a second season (20 episodes) of Sunny Day that will follow Sunny, a 10-year-old master hairstylist and entrepreneur, as she goes on new adventures in her seaside town of Friendly Falls.
Make It Real to Launch Juicy Couture Craft Line
Make It Real, the style-center DIY craft maker, has partnered with Authentic Brands Group (ABG) to create a collection of jewelry-making and activity sets featuring the Juicy Couture fashion brand. The line will hit retail worldwide this spring and make its debut at New York Toy Fair 2018.
The Juicy Couture collection from Make It Real, targeted to girls ages 8 and up, will feature DIY kits that let them create their own wearable designs —from charm bracelets and necklaces to hair accessories—as well as fashion design sketchbooks. Presented in packaging featuring Juicy’s signature hot pink inspired by the company’s pink velour tracksuit, the assortment includes Juicy Couture Chokers & Charms, Juicy Couture Sweet Suede Bracelets, Juicy Couture Chains & Charms, Juicy Couture Fruit Obsessions Bracelets, Juicy Couture Hair Candy Accessories, Juicy Couture Enchanted Locket Jewelry, and the Juicy Couture Fashion Design Set.
Make It Real will also host a special Juicy Fashion Designer Contest on its website throughout 2018 in celebration of the collection. The grand prize winner will receive a host of prizes, including a trip to attend a Juicy Couture campaign photo shoot, where he/she will get to meet a Juicy Couture Creative Director, and more.

Cartoon Network Expands Rick and Morty Apparel Program
Cartoon Network Enterprises announced new licensing partners in the apparel and accessories category for Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty. The expanded partner announcement comes at the start of MAGIC Marketplace, a three-day event in Las Vegas, Nevada covering apparel, footwear, accessories and fashion resources, where some of the new Rick and Morty products will be showcased.
New brand offerings include young women’s graphic T-shirts from Mad Engine (available mass, mid-tier and specialty ); Rick and Morty-inspired umbrellas, a denim shirt, and other cut-and-sew apparel from The Forecast Agency; men’s and women’s swimwear from ACDC Apparel (specialty); sunglasses from Starlight Accessories; themed shoes and slippers from Esquire; watches, istraps, and wall clocks from Accutime; hosiery from Hypnotic Hats; and jewelry, body jewelry, cuff links, key chains, money clips, flasks, and more from Salesone.
Dr. Seuss Character Get Plush Treatment from Aurora
Aurora World announced a new licensing partnership with Dr. Seuss.
The first launch of Aurora World’s products will feature some of the most well-known and popular Dr. Seuss characters. New Dr. Seuss plush is expected to start rolling out in toy stores and gift/stationery stores in the second half of 2018.
