New Deals for The Hive
The Joester Loria Group brokered two new deals for the Disney Jr. preschool series The Hive with MediBadge, Inc., and Total Resources International.
MediBadge, Inc., has secured the license to produce temporary tattoos, stickers, and sticker activity kits. MediBadge will initially offer 12 designs featuring the characters from the show. Products will debut online and in the company’s 2014 catalog in January. The line will be available for medical and school distribution.
Total Resources International has been signed to create “Bee-Safe” sting relief first-aid kits. The kit will include sting relief pads, adhesive bandages, antibiotic ointment, tweezer, plus antiseptic towelettes, and come packaged in a plastic case. The kit will launch at mass, drug, grocery, and specialty accounts in 2014.
Crocs in Deal with Boo—The World’s Cutest Dog
Knockout Licensing announced a deal with Crocs, Inc., for Boo—The World’s Cutest Dog. Crocs has been granted the rights to create officially licensed Boo Jibbitz shoe charms in the likeness of Boo. Boo Jibbitz, small molded shoe charms, can be used to decorate the holes in a variety of Crocs shoe styles. The Boo Jibbitz shoe charms are now available at Crocs retail stores worldwide and online at Crocs.com.
Downton Abbey Line of Teas
Knockout Licensing, the agency managing the Downton Abbey licensing program in North America, has signed The Republic of Tea to create a line of Downton Abbey Teas.
The Republic of Tea’s Downton Abbey line is launching with three custom blends. The teas come in colorful tins featuring beloved Downton Abbey characters. Each tin contains 36 round tea bags.
Toys to Be Developed for Smithsonian
Sun-Mate Corporation, a global toy manufacturer, and the Smithsonian’s business division, Smithsonian Enterprises, are introducing an all-new Smithsonian-branded toy line, based on the 137 million items held at the Smithsonian Institution, the world’s largest museum and research complex.
Sun-Mate is launching a full line of Smithsonian-branded toys that include roleplay and exploration sets, doctor and veterinary playsets, electronic toys, and room décor/night lights.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of all Smithsonian licensed products supports the Institution’s educational mission.
Red Robin Steak Fries at Home
The Valen Group announced that it has signed a licensing agreement with ConAgra Foods to bring Red Robin’s signature Steak Fries to grocer’s freezers nationwide. The fries are ready to be baked at home.
Animal-Planet Branded Hatch ’Em Eggs
Discovery Communications announced a partnership with SCS Direct, Inc., for a line of Animal Planet-branded Hatch ’Em Eggs, an extension of the Hatch ’Em Eggs collection.
SCS Direct, Inc., will be producing four Animal Planet-themed sets of three eggs based on Ocean, Rainforest, Safari, and Dinosaurs. Similar to other Hatch ’Em Eggs, when placed in water each egg “hatches” to reveal the creature inside. Debuting at Toy Fair 2014, the new line will target kids ages 6–11 and retail for $9.99.
The new agreement will expand Animal Planet’s program in the United States and Canada and was brokered on behalf of Animal Planet by its licensing agent, The Joester Loria Group.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Pacifier
The First Friends Friendly Pacifier announced that it has signed a licensing agreement with DreamWorks Classics (formerly Classic Media) for Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. The new Friendly Pacifier holiday collection will launch next year timed with the movie’s 50th anniversary.
The new Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Friendly Pacifier will feature plush characters from the holiday classic including Rudolph, Clarice, the Abominable Snow Monster, Hermey (the dentist), and others from the Island of Misfits Toys.
