Discovery Communications, Parragon for TLC Cookbooks
Discovery Communications announced a licensing agreement with Parragon, Inc., publisher with more than 100 million cookbooks sold globally over the past four years, for a new publishing line under the TLC Cooking umbrella. The line will include cookbooks, e-books, and recipe apps that represent the best of TLC by offering family, style, home, and cooking tips from the network’s most popular personalities and shows. The deal was brokered on behalf of Discovery Communications by Big Tent Entertainment, the North American licensing agent for the TLC brand.
The first title released under the partnership, TLC Cooking, 150 Timeless Recipes from Our Family to Yours, will be available beginning early 2013 at all physical and digital stores that sell books. The publication will feature top personalities from the TLC family.
The e-book edition, and the new TLC Family Kitchen mobile app will allow users to bring their recipes with them anywhere. A free sampler of the app with up to 75 recipes will be available for download at the iTunes store and additional recipe bundles are also available for $1.99 and $2.99.
Miss America Swimwear Exclusive to Walmart
Catalina, a division of New York-based In Mocean Group, announced that Catalina, will be the official swimwear sponsor of the 2013 Miss America Competition, airing on ABC Television on Saturday, January 12, 2013.
The first-ever, custom-designed Miss America by Catalina collection will be featured on all 53 contestants during the lifestyle and fitness competition. The Miss America by Catalina collection will be available for purchase exclusively at select Walmart locations beginning January 2013 and Walmart.com.
In addition to the designs featured on the Miss America telecast, the key styles in the collection will feature a wider range of options appealing to a broad consumer base, while utilizing the same jewel tone colors and embellishments seen during the competition.
