Mattel Television and Nickelodeon start production on the Monster High movie musical in Vancouver this month.
Monster High (working title) is a live-action television movie — based on Mattel’s franchise of the same name — anticipated to premiere on Nickelodeon in 2022. Additionally, a Monster High animated series will debut on Nickelodeon next year.
Mattel launched Monster High in 2010, introducing its line of monster-inspired fashion dolls. In the last 10-plus years, the brand has expanded to an animated web series, several animated television specials and films, video games, and books.
The upcoming live-action movie will feature popular characters from the Monster High universe and star Miia Harris as Clawdeen Wolf, Ceci Balagot as Frankie Stein, Nayah Damasen as Draculaura, Case Walker as Deuce Gorgon, and additional cast and characters. Todd Holland serves as director and executive producer, with story by Jenny Jaffe, Greg Erb, and Jason Oremland and teleplay by Jaffe and Billy and Matt Eddy.
Frederic Soulie and Phil Breman of Mattel serve as executive producers. Zack Olin, Shauna Phelan, Linda Halder, Jessica Brown, Yolanda T. Cochran and Jules Kovisars oversee production on the movie for Nickelodeon. Adam Bonnett also acts as executive producer.
