Collegiate lifestyle brand LegacyHistoryPride is partnering with Paramount Consumer Products to celebrate Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) with a variety of apparel collections, the first of which features iconic Nickelodeon characters from Hey Arnold and Rugrats.
LegacyHistoryPride, also known as LHP, is best known for their fashion forward, high quality HBCU apparel. As a licensed vendor for various HBCUs, LHP has shown their dedication to infusing the spirit of HBCU culture into stylish and versatile apparel since their start in 2019.
“Collaborations like this move culture forward,” said Tahir Murray, Founder of LHP and proud 2021 Howard University Alum. “Representation on all levels is important and is a key piece in the intention of why we wanted to collaborate with Paramount in the first place. Being able to collaboratively use this space to celebrate the Legacy of Black culture and HBCUs through fashion is what makes this launch so special.”
“This partnership represents the intersection of culture, legacy, and authenticity, highlighting LHP’s love for HBCUs and amplifying the legacy of classic Nickelodeon franchises to reach existing, new and future fans,” said Joann Guevara, Senior Vice President, Softlines, Consumer Products & Experiences, Paramount Global. “LHP’s commitment to infuse the spirit of HBCU culture into lifestyle and versatile apparel has made them an ideal and authentic partner, and we look forward to driving impact together.”
The collaboration promises a range of innovative projects, including limited-edition merchandise, exclusive events, and immersive experiences that bridge the gap between entertainment and fashion. With Paramount’s legacy of iconic franchises and LHP’s pulse on contemporary culture, fans can anticipate a series of surprises that will bring beloved stories to life in new and unexpected ways.
The debut collection with Nickelodeon’s Hey Arnold and Rugrats apparel are available in select HBCU Follett Higher Education Group and Barnes & Noble Bookstores, along with LHP’s own website, ShopLHP.com.
As anticipation builds, both LegacyHistoryPride and Paramount invite their dedicated fan bases and enthusiasts to follow along and join in the excitement. This collaboration is set to bring forth an exciting blend of creativity, innovation, and youthful energy, appealing to both the young-at-heart and the trendsetters of today.
In partnership with Nickelodeon, LHP will be participating with a brand activation – which also includes future career development opportunities for students – on the campus of Florida A&M University during their Homecoming FamFest at the Will Packer Amphitheater on Friday, October 27, 2023.
“We are super excited by the positive, long-term educational impacts this partnership will have on our youngest, most impressionable Rattlers” said Shawnta Friday-Stroud, Ph.D., vice president of University Advancement, executive director of the FAMU Foundation, Inc., and dean of the School of Business and Industry.
