The Insights Family – the global leader in kids, teens, parents, and family market intelligence – had a visit from Lord Offord of Garvel (Minister for Exports) and the Department for Business and Trade on Thursday 22nd of June 2023 as part of the Northern Powerhouse Partner Program. The Northern Powerhouse Partner Program is a government initiative made up of businesses from across the North, from international organizations with a Northern presence to SMEs and from a variety of sectors.
The Insights Family which has previously been recognized by DBT as an Export Champion and earlier this year won the UK MarTech company of the year, has grown significantly since its launch in 2017, and now generates more than 85% of its revenue through international sales. Lord Offord was joined by Liam Pearce, Jenny Mooney, and Marian Sudbury from the Department for Business and Trade who met with The Insights Family Founder – Nick Richardson, Strategic Growth Officer – Donald McIntosh, and SVP Marketing & Partnerships – Rachel Bardill.
Minister for Exports, Lord Offord commented, “Businesses who export create jobs, pay higher wages, and help grow the economy. The Northern Powerhouse exported £88.4 billion worth of goods and services in 2022 and businesses are doing fantastic work supporting jobs and economic growth. It was a pleasure to meet with The Insights Family to see how, through new trade deals and removal of market access barriers, we’re helping more businesses boost their exports and sell their innovative products made in the UK around the world.”
Founder of The Insights Family, Nick Richardson added, “We were delighted to host Lord Offord and his delegation and talk through The Insights Family’s progress to date. As one who is recognized as an Export Champion and one of the fastest growing businesses who are part of the Northern Powerhouse. It’s fair to say that we have enjoyed significant support from organizations such as Business Growth Hub, DBT and Innovate UK along our journey from start up to scale up, that said there are a number of issues and challenges that we have had to or not yet been able to overcome, which hopefully in time will be removed to further enable innovative organizations such as ours to thrive internationally, bringing more jobs and opportunities for individuals across the North and beyond”
The delegation discussed The Insights Family’s journey so far, future global growth plans, the ‘Made in the UK, Sold to the World’ campaign to support innovative UK businesses, and exciting opportunities to meet with other government departments. In a year of ambitious growth plans for The Insights Family it was beneficial to discuss plans going forward and get the opportunity to share the benefits of being a part of the campaign.
