Moxie and Co is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Romare Bearden Foundation in respect of its Romare Bearden artwork, illustrations, prints and commercial designs for extensions into consumer goods, electronics, home fashion, apparel, toys and all branded merchandise and promotional tie-ins.
The Foundation desires to leverage Bearden’s iconic and trusted imagery including cartoons, oils, and collages. Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, Bearden grew up in New York City and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and graduated from New York University in 1935. images Romare Bearden was an American artist, author, and songwriter. He worked with many types of media striving to reach, connect and empower consumers with an appreciation and understanding of fine art. Moxie will be working with the Bearden Foundation on the development of licensing programs across multiple areas and will enter the first phase of product development in 2023.
“The Foundation realizes its mission by preserving a collection of Bearden’s artworks and extensive archives of books, articles, letters, photographs, and other materials; hosting, supporting and presenting scholarly and public programs, including symposia, panel presentations and school-based programs featuring Bearden’s art and life; providing support for and encouragement of museum exhibitions and new scholarly research on Bearden and his contributions to twentieth-century art. Arlene Scanlan, President at Moxie emphasizes that Moxie is expert at building Moxie’s design, art and unique brand portfolios. “Our plan is to launch Romare Bearden’s work at the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center this June. Exact dates are June 12-14 and Moxie’s booth # is F128.” said Scanlan.
