In partnership with the Estate of Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Rock The Bells, the global platform dedicated to elevating and championing Hip-Hop culture from its roots to the modern day, announces a strategic co-branded licensing partnership that kicks off with a Signature Collection designed by world-renowned Creative Director Alexander-John. The collection features an iconic image of Ol’ Dirty Bastard with the goal of honoring him in alignment with his Estate and family available exclusively on https://shop.rockthebells.com/. The Estate of Ol’ Dirty Bastard and Rock The Bells are partnering with some of the industry’s top licensees to bring innovative co-branded designs to market with a fresh and modern take.
Released during the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop as one of the company’s initiatives to commemorate this important cultural milestone, Rock The Bells’ signature apparel collection continues to pay homage to all aspects of Hip-Hop: the culture’s champions, timeless contributors, and the streets (spaces and places). The limited-edition Ol’ Dirty Bastard (ODB) collection features unisex and women’s hoodies with the artwork for ODB’s first album “Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version.”
“ODB was known for being an original, and for being a genuine and entertaining, verbose artist. He contributed to changing rap indefinitely – from the music to the business,” said Rich Morris, vice president of global commerce for Rock The Bells. “As Rock The Bells continues to champion the culture forward offering fans the best in content, experiences and commerce, we’re honored to be partnering with his Estate on this collection and look forward to our continued collaboration.”
The Estate of Ol’ Dirty Bastard is dedicated to preserving and promoting the legacy of the legendary rapper and co-founder of the Wu-Tang Clan. As a global brand, the Estate is focused on bringing ODB merchandise and multi-platform experiences to fans across the world.
“I am so excited to start 2023 with a special partnership with Rock the Bells and ODB. I know that this collaboration will truly shine a light on my talented and unique husband Ol’ Dirty Bastard,” says Icelene Jones, widow and administrator of the Estate of ODB. Hip-Hop continues to make a massive impact on popular culture. As tastemakers and trendsetters, Rock The Bells’ unique offering of commerce and products tell stories that span generations, cement a legacy, and continues to elevate Hip-Hop in a way that honors the artform and highlights it deservingly – with originality, authenticity, and creative vision intact. A sneak peak of the collection is available now at shop.rockthebells.com. More styles will be revealed throughout the year as we continue to celebrate the last 50 years of this iconic genre.
The collaboration was negotiated by ODB’s licensing agent, FanGirl Consulting & Brand Management.
