MGA Entertainment (MGA) has triumphed at the UK Toy Industry Awards, taking home Doll of the Year Award for its Rainbow High Spring 2022 collection.
This marks the fifth consecutive win in the UK Toy Industry Awards for MGA – and the first Doll of the Year win for Rainbow High. Since launching in 2020, Rainbow High – a fashion doll and entertainment brand – has continued to go from strength-to-strength. According to NPD data, Rainbow High was the number one best-selling Fashion Doll YTD 2022 and number three Doll property in the UK YTD December 2022. It was also the No.11 Best Selling Toy for the same period. Rainbow High also has its own animated series on YouTube and Netflix, which has racked up over one billion views worldwide to date.
A celebration of self-expression and creativity, the brand has a strong focus on inclusivity and diversity – and nowhere is this more evident than in the Spring 2022 collection. In addition to a wide range of skin tones and ethnicities, the Spring 2022 collection features two characters – Delilah Fields and Jewel Richie – with visible differences. Jewel Richie has vitiligo and Delilah Fields has albinism and is the first Rainbow High doll to wear glasses.
Each of the six dolls in the Rainbow High Spring 2022 collection is dressed in a color to suit their own individual style and features long, brushable hair that can be styled, gorgeous features, and long eyelashes. This collection of Rainbow High fashion dolls come complete with two outfits for mix and match styling, two hangers, a hair comb and doll stand. Their fully articulated and moveable features allow for endless poses when playing.
Isaac Larian, Founder and CEO of MGA Entertainment, said: “I am delighted that Team MGA has added another Doll of the Year Award win to the MGA portfolio – and we are particularly thrilled to be celebrating the first win for Rainbow High. This win is a celebration of our focus on originality and innovation and cements Rainbow High’s growing success as one of the most exciting fashion doll properties around. It is testament to the ever growing success of the Rainbow High brand and the perfect start to what I know will be another incredible year for the whole MGA portfolio. Here’s to 2023!”
