Philadelphia Union announced that it has entered into a multi-year partnership agreement with Osmo, an award-winning STEAM educational brand making engaging games for kids 3-10+, ahead of the Union’s 2021 Major League Soccer season. This is Osmo’s first partnership with a professional sports team. The partnership centers around three main community platforms and a shared commitment to youth development on and off the field.
“At the Union, enriching young minds doesn’t stop when they step off the field or leave Subaru Park, it is equally important that we provide resources to continue learning when at school, or at home, to our young players and fans,” said Philadelphia Union President Tim McDermott. “Personally, I have seen how Osmo products can educate in a fun, engaging way with my own children and look forward to bringing that to our community.”
“We’re really thrilled by the intersection of sports and STEAM learning, and we see lots of young athletes being equally motivated and inspired by technology, math and computer science, like my son, for example,” says Pramod Sharma, CEO and Founder of Osmo. “He loves to play soccer, as much as he loves digital learning. Kids demonstrate great aptitude for learning both inside and outside the classroom!”
“Becoming a partner at the Philadelphia Union extends further than an agreement, it is about becoming a part of a larger community,” said Jean-Paul Dardenne, SVP of Corporate Partnerships at the Philadelphia Union. “We look forward to introducing our fans and community to Osmo and making an impact together.”
The partnership is centered around three platforms: an Osmo Cares charitable program, Osmo Kids Club Membership, and The Osmo Off-Day. The Union and Osmo Cares will identify a local nonprofit and provide complimentary kits and tablets. Osmo also becomes an official sponsor of the Union Kids Club and will provide exclusive kits and content to club members. The Osmo Off-Day will select a school off day (holiday, inservice, etc.) to invite a large group of school-age children out to Subaru Park for a day of fun and learning.
