Buffalo Business First reported that board game and puzzle manufacturer Buffalo Games, based in Buffalo, New York, has secured a deal to acquire Massachusetts-based jigsaw puzzle company Ceaco as well as Ceaco’s contract manufacturer, Edaron Inc.
Buffalo is the largest producer of jigsaw puzzles in America, while Ceaco is the second-largest. The acquisition will expand the company’s employee count from about 110 to about 350 employees.
According to Buffalo CEO Nagendra Raina, Ceaco will continue to operate mostly as a standalone business. The acquisition will not alter Buffalo Games’ operations for the near future either.
“It’s a very talented staff in Massachusetts, a company that has great relationships with retailers, and it’s a great fit with our brands,” Raina told Buffalo Business First. “Just as we have done with Buffalo Games, we will be investing in their business to ensure they prosper.”
He added that the deal “allows us to bring new products and innovation to the puzzle market faster,”
“It allows us to have a more strategic footprint in the puzzle and games markets.”
