Women in Toys, Licensing & Entertainment (WIT) announced that registration is now open for the Spring 2020 Session of the Ruth Handler Mentorship Program for WIT, the toy industry’s first-ever global 1:1 mentorship program that is designed to advance career growth through mentorship, coaching, professional development and learning.
Underwritten by The Mattel Foundation, and timed to the company’s 75th anniversary, the program is named after Ruth Handler, Mattel’s co-founder and creator of the Barbie brand, the iconic leader who was a mentor to many and paved the way for future leaders.
The program is powered by Everwise, a best-in-class learning-experience and mentor-match platform for professional development. Core to the program is a guided 4-month personalized one-to-one mentor/mentee partnership that matches up some of the most seasoned and influential leaders in the industry with women who are focused on honing their leadership skills, building their network and advancing their careers.
Designed to be beneficial for both mentors and mentees, the program gives them a platform to connect, learn, grow and move the industry forward.
Once participants sign up, it will take 2-4 weeks to be matched. During this time, they’ll have the opportunity to take advantage of the many curated resources, activities, articles and career development tools within the Everwise platform.
The Ruth Handler Mentorship Program for WIT is open to all active WIT members.
“This program is going to further the careers of so many women, which is at the heart of our mission at WIT,” shares Janice Ross, WIT President. “We are excited to witness the transformations that emerge from the connections made, and we know this is going to be a game-changer for women in our industry.”
