Green Toys products are now available for the first time in select Target stores nationwide. This marks the company’s first major entry into big box stores since its inception more than a decade ago.
Charlie Friend, president of Green Toys Inc. stated, “With the demand for sustainable toys increasing, this is the logical time for us to expand our distribution beyond specialty retailers and into national, high-traffic retailers like Target. This provides parents with additional opportunities to find our brand and the eco-friendly product options they are searching for.”
Target Stores now features a wide selection of classic Green Toys items, including the Green Toys Stacking Cups, Tide Pool Set, and Tugboat, which can be found in the Baby and Bath aisle, and the Green Toys Tea Set, Seacopter, Wagon, Seaplane, Rescue Boat & Helicopter, Car Carrier, Rocket, Ferry Boat, Airplane & Board Book, and Scooper & Board Book in the preschool section.
The Green Toys product line is made from 100% recycled materials (mainly HDPE, commonly used for milk jugs), and to date the company has used more than 80,000,000 recycled milk jugs in making their products. The toys are free of BPA, phthalates, and PVC and meet FDA standards for food contact. All phases of production including toy design, manufacturing, assembly, and distribution are completed in the U.S.
The entire Green Toys 2020 line will be on display at New York Toy Fair as the company introduces three new offerings to their line of preschool toys:
- The blue and yellow Green Toys Cargo Plane features a three-wheel design and handle on the body. A cargo hold can be accessed via a flip-down door that doubles as a ramp for loading up the included Green Toy Mini Car or anything else imaginations want to stow away. The design has no metal axels or exterior paints or coatings. For ages 3 and up. Available Spring/Summer 2020.
- The Green Toys Fire Plane features a wide wingspan and lightweight design for little ones and big kids alike. Using the handle on the back of the body, scoop in water through the front of the plane, then fly it high as water streams out from the back and bottom. Flip down the door on the bottom to clean inside with a bottle brush, or put the whole vessel in the dishwasher. For ages 6 months to 6 years. Available Spring/Summer 2020.
- The Green Toys Shape Sorter Truck offers both vehicle and developmental play! This six-piece set features the “Shape Management” truck, removable back bin, and four chunky, multi-colored shapes – a square, star, triangle, and circle. Kids can practice fine motor skills sorting the shapes into their corresponding slots then tilt the hopper back to dump the contents out the swinging door and start again. The truck has no screws or metal axels, and the whole set is dishwasher safe. Color combinations may vary. For ages 1 year and up. Available Fall 2020.
As with all Green Toys products, the Cargo Plane, Fire Plane, and Shape Sorter Truck are made in the U.S. from 100% recycled plastic with no BPA, phthalates, or PVC and are packaged with recycled and recyclable materials printed with eco-friendly inks.
