Disguise, Inc., the Halloween costume division of Jakks Pacific, Inc., announced a licensing agreement with Electronic Arts Inc. to create exclusive, first-ever Halloween costumes and costume accessories based on the free-to-play multiplayer game, Apex Legends. The multi-year agreement grants Disguise rights to distribute Apex Legends-inspired costumes in the U.S. and Canada.
Apex Legends is a multiplayer game that aims to deliver a strategic, high octane, competitive experience to fans. In the months since its launch, the game has amassed over 70M players.
“Apex Legends is one of the fastest growing, multiplayer games in the video game industry,” said Tara Hefter, EVP and GM of Disguise, Inc. “We are delighted to partner with EA to expand the game’s popularity and create a complete collection of costumes for the whole family to enjoy.”
Developed by Respawn Entertainment, Apex Legends delivers a squad-based battle royale experience where players select from one of ten Legends, and the last team standing wins. Players can choose from characters like Bloodhound, the tracker who can see recent enemy activity on the map, or Lifeline, a battlefield medic who can shield teammates and bring them back from the brink of death.
“One thing that makes Apex Legends so beloved by our players is our roster of characters with unique abilities and personalities,” said Arturo Castro, Senior Director of Brand Marketing for EA Respawn Entertainment. “We are excited to partner with Disguise to offer Apex Legends fans a chance to become living legends next Halloween.”
Apex Legends costumes from Disguise are scheduled to be available at retailers in time for Halloween 2020.
The deal was brokered by Apex Legend’s Global Licensing Agent, Retail Monster.
