Mattel, Incorporated announced that it has renewed Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go, the highly successful animated series based on Thomas the Tank Engine, for two additional seasons. Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana Studios has begun co-production with Mattel Television on the two new seasons which are set to deliver in 2023. Building upon the emphatic reception to Season 26 and the introduction of the series’ first autistic character, Bruno the Brake Car, seasons 27 and 28 will continue to broaden the global viewership of the celebrated series and are comprised of 26 11-minute episodes; each series also includes its own 60-minute special.

Season five of the globally popular series, Miraculous – Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, is now available on Disney Channel U.S., with new episodes premiering weekly on Saturdays at 10am ET/PT. Created by ZAG and co-produced with Method Animation (Mediawan Kids & Family), the 3D-CGI-animated superhero aspirational action-comedy series, Miraculous – Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, has become a bona fide worldwide hit, available in over 120 countries around the world. The series has a broad audience reach, with superhero action and romantic storylines to please younger kids and preteens alike.

Cyber Group Studios’ new action-adventure-packed series, The Tern, was the #1 attended screening program at Cartoon Forum, the annual conference held September 19-22 this year in Toulouse, France. Cartoon Forum is Europe’s biggest showcase for animation and TV series. One of the most anticipated French projects on the market, The Tern, a series that blends European and Japanese graphic styles, screened on Tuesday, September 20, to a crowded theater of viewers. The show was the lead series among the 80 animated TV projects submitted this year from 19 European countries, totaling 473 hours of content, and garnered a phenomenal response from the public, potential partners, and press.

A total of seven broadcasters across four different countries have boarded brand new animated series Audrey’s Shelter from leading French production company Watch Next Media, co-produced with Spain’s Peekaboo and Canada’s Image-in, Atlantique with the support of the CNC, Telefilm Canada, FMC, Region Ile-de-France and Region Haut-de-France. France Televisions (France), TVO Kids, Radio-Canada, TFO and Knowledge (Canada) have jointly commissioned the 52 x 11’ series with public-service broadcasters ZDF (Germany) and RTVE (Spain) on board as co-producing broadcast partners. The series will air on both ZDF and KiKa in Germany and on Clan TV in Spain.

PBS KIDS has announced that Rosie’s Rules, a colorful new 2D animated preschool comedy series from 9 Story Media Group and its award-winning studio, Brown Bag Films, will make its debut on October 3, 2022. Rosie’s Rules stars 5-year-old Rosie Fuentes, a bilingual Mexican-American girl from suburban Texas who is just beginning to learn about how the great, big, fascinating world around her works. Featuring an engaging social studies curriculum, a dynamic cast of characters, catchy music, and hilarious stories, the new series aims to show kids ages 3-6 how they, as individuals, fit into their own community, as well as broader society.

Fred Rogers Productions, the award-winning children’s educational media organization, and Warner Music Group’s Arts Music division are marking the 10th anniversary of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, the beloved Emmy Award-winning PBS KIDS series, with a new digital music album. “10 Years of Tiger Tunes!,” the latest Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood music release, is available on all digital platforms now.

 Trilogy Animation Group (TAG), the animation studio dedicated to producing and developing quality family entertainment for audiences worldwide, is showcasing five exciting animated kids’ series at MIPJunior for the first time. TAG, which acquired the complete portfolio of PorchLight Entertainment IP, including its well-loved Emmy-nominated preschool series, Jay Jay The Jet Plane, and Emmy-winning Tutenstein for the school-age set, is updating the two celebrated shows for a new generation as well as presenting original series that will further grow TAG’s viewing audience. The new TAG shows will be introduced at MIPJunior and MIPCOM 2022, October 15-20, in Cannes, France.

Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit behind decades of award-winning educational content, announced Sesame Street’s 53rd season will debut on Thursday, November 3 on Cartoonito on HBO Max. Episodes of the iconic children’s series, 35 in all, will drop every Thursday. The season will stream on PBS KIDS in Fall 2023.
