Magic Mixies has more than 12.7 million views on YouTube, and is now making magic on Netflix with two Magic Mixies specials. The specials include content from Magic Mixies season one and two, which follow Sienna, a young girl who unlocks a glittering pathway to Mixia, a mystical land filled with magic creatures (spoiler alert: it’s the Mixlings!) and new adventures. Both specials are available in five languages: English, French, German, Spanish and Portuguese, further solidifying Magic Mixies’ worldwide appeal.

Fred Rogers Productions Receives Renewal Grant from the Arthur Vining Davis Foundations to Support Educational Series

Fred Rogers Productions, the award-winning children’s educational media organization behind Emmy-winning PBS KIDS series Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Odd Squad, and Peg + Cat, has secured a two-year $600,000 grant from the Arthur Vining Davis Foundations (AVDF) for its newest series, Alma’s Way and Donkey Hodie. AVDF’s mission is to support institutions it views as pillars of American society, and Fred Rogers Productions is one of a few producers of public media receiving continued support.

MediaCorp Commissions New Spin-off Series Paula & Pals and Refreshed Leo the Wildlife Ranger

Award-winning animation company Omens Studios has secured a multi-season commission from Singapore’s national public broadcaster MediaCorp to produce two brand-new series based on its hit international IPs 123 Number Squad and Leo the Wildlife Ranger. The Mediacorp deal includes three seasons of 123 Number Squad spin off series Paula & Pals and four seasons of a refreshed version of Leo the Wildlife Ranger, which picks up where season two of the original show ends.

Amuse Animation to Produce First Original Digital-Led Preschool Series from eOne

Amuse Animation, a boutique digital-centric animation studio, has entered an agreement with Hasbro entertainment studio, eOne to produce a digital-led animated series. The eOne deal marks Hasbro’s first collaboration with Amuse Animation, and their first ever original, direct-to-digital preschool project. “In an ever-changing media landscape, it is clear that digital-born properties are winning the hearts of children and families around the world now more than ever before. Hasbro has long been at the forefront of innovation in play and entertainment, and this move into digital-first IP generation will allow us to build fandom by reaching our audience directly via YouTube and learning from their viewing behavior in real-time,” commented Tom Hartley, VP of Digital Content at eOne / Hasbro. “With its strong positioning as a digital-first preschool animation studio and its rapid-response production, Amuse Animation is the perfect partner for this new endeavor.”

Sixteen South and Nelvana Harness a Horse Named Steve for New Animated Series

BAFTA-winning and EMMY-nominated Belfast-based studio Sixteen South has announced that together with Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana, a worldleading international developer, producer, distributor, and licensor of children’s animated and live-action content, they have optioned and are co-developing and co-producing A Horse Named Steve, a new 2D animated series based on the acclaimed debut picture book by Toronto author-illustrator Kelly Collier. The 52 X 11 series will feature hilarious storylines while showing the importance of friendship, teamwork and appreciating one’s true self.

Pokémon Reveals ‘Pokémon Horizons: The Series’ as Official Title of Next Animated Series

In “Pokémon Horizons: The Series,” dual protagonists Liko, whose partner Pokémon is Sprigatito, and Roy will encounter many characters during their journey, including a group led by Friede and Captain Pikachu called the Rising Volt Tacklers. Traveling across the Pokémon world on an airship, the Rising Volt Tacklers include Orla, who enjoys mechanical and electrical work and is accompanied by her partner Pokémon, Metagross; Murdock, who is skilled at cooking, and his partner Pokémon, Rockruff; Mollie, who specializes in healing treatments, and her partner Pokémon, Chansey; and Ludlow. Liko and Roy will also come across Amethio, who is joined by his partner Pokémon, Ceruledge, and belongs to an organization called the Explorers, as well as a popular video streamer known as Nidothing.
