Sloomoo Institute – an experiential destination that taps into the joy of multi-sensory play through hand-crafted, artisanal slime and #satisfying experiences – is excited to announce it is teaming up with leading global children’s entertainment company Spin Master, makers of Kinetic Sand.
This collaboration seeks to enhance Sloomoo Institute’s tactile installations with the addition of the mesmerizing, satisfying, “can’t put it down” nature of Kinetic Sand that provides endless creative possibilities. With installations Sloomoo is calling Kinetic Sand “Doons”, custom-made hexagonal structures at a striking height of six feet tall in bright magenta will be added to their experiential destinations. These Doons feature pie slice-like openings lined with LED lights and mirrors for a kaleidoscopic infinity effect – where you can insert your hands and play with the Kinetic Sand, experiencing it through touch and sight from every angle. As the Doons will live inside Sloomoo’s Cove, a day-glow, blacklight world allowing the sand itself to glow in the dark.

“Spin Master has been an incredible partner and we’re excited to add another dimension of sensory play to our Chicago and Atlanta experiences, with the introduction of Kinetic Sand – a compound that kids and adults alike gravitate towards,” they added, noting that New York City will also feature Kinetic Sand in Sloomoo’s high gloss “egg vats.”

In addition to the Doons, all Sloomoo Institute spaces feature a series of fantastical experiences that delight the senses of sight, touch, smell and sound, including: a DIY bar that offers 60 scents (think dessert, fruit, floral, spa vibes and more), 40 colors and 150 charms to make over four million slime creations, dozens of vats of slime (each one, a different scent and texture) to dip your hands into, “Sloomoo Falls” where visitors can stand under a waterfall of slime, “Lake Sloomoo” which provides 350 gallons of slime to walk on after alcohol-wiping your feet, a Yayoi Kusama Obliteration Room-inspired “Slime Wall,” ASMR experiences, soundscapes, scent exploration, immersive videos, AR surprises, interactive videos and more. All of Sloomoo Institute’s activities and attractions are created for people of all ages, abilities and interests.
The Doons will be ready for visitors upon the opening of Sloomoo Institute’s Atlanta and Chicago destinations this November.
