Fred Rogers Productions and 9 Story Brands opted this week to extend their toy partnership with JAKKS Pacific for Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.
The license renewal allows JAKKS to continue manufacturing, marketing, and selling figures, plush, roleplay items, and vehicles based on Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood — as well as expand its offerings from the brand 2022.
“Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood is a cornerstone property for Fred Rogers Productions, one that both JAKKS Pacific and 9 Story Brands fully embraced and thoughtfully helped build into a licensing success story,” said Matt Shiels, Fred Rogers Productions’ VP of business and legal affairs. “We look forward to celebrating many more milestones for the brand with these valued partners.”
The preschool series, which airs on PBS Kids, is inspired by characters originally introduced in Mister Roger’s Neighborhood. The show celebrates its 10th anniversary next year.
“Our Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood figures, plush and vehicles have all been a hit at retail over the years,” said Jeremy Sueper, senior director of marketing for JAKKS Pacific, Inc. “We can’t wait to release our 2022 line for this incredible property and introduce new items to help celebrate Daniel’s 10th anniversary next year.”
