Plus-Plus, creator of the unique plus-shaped construction toy with endless possibilities, has created BOKS, a new building set for older kids and adults. Part storage container, part room décor, and all open-ended creativity, BOKS is a wooden platform that both holds Plus-Plus pieces and serves as a base on which to build any number of Plus-Plus creations. The perfect desk or table accessory, BOKS is both fun and functional. Not only are the pieces fun to play with, but constructing shapes is a simple way to keep your mind active and hands busy throughout the day or during virtual meetings. The set can double as a phone, headphone, business card or pen holder.
Plus-Plus is much more than just a toy for kids, and BOKS showcases how Plus-Plus pieces are a tool for open-ended creativity for builders of all ages. BOKS inspires play at any age and can become a forever and adorned displayed keepsake in your home. The new product also gives recognition to Plus-Plus’ headquarters and manufacturing center in Denmark, with “BOKS” meaning “box” in Danish.
“While so many of us are working or learning from home, our team thought this was the perfect time to add a new creative element to our desks, kitchen tables, or anywhere you want to add some fun and function,” says Ryan Hamilton, Head of Product Development at Plus-Plus.
Officially launched on November 11, the BOKS Kickstarter has already been supported by over 100 backers, exceeding its funding goal in less than one week. To kick off the Kickstarter campaign, Plus-Plus held a BOKS launch event with the award-winning Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) at their Copenhagen headquarters. Recently featured on the cover of Architectural Digest, Ingels is an esteemed Danish architect who has designed the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., Two World Trade Center, and the Virgin Hyperloop vehicle, along with many more impressive projects. At the launch event, over 40 designers and architects from BIG created their own BOKS designs in a competition judged by BIG partners Bjarke Ingels and Jakob Lange, and representatives from Plus-Plus. Several of the winning designs will be featured in a future Plus-Plus product.
BOKS is available exclusively on Kickstarter now, and will be available in stores beginning in January 2021. For more information on Plus-Plus and new products, visit plusplususa.com and follow Plus-Plus on Instagram and Facebook.
