Steve Young Named President, Activision Blizzard Consumer Products Group
Steve Young has been named the new President of Activision Blizzard Consumer Products Group.
Young is a 14-year veteran of Activision who has served in multiple executive leadership positions, most recently as executive vice-president and chief revenue officer since 2016.
He began his career at Activision leading retail marketing and later held executive-level sales roles in the Americas and Europe. He has played an instrumental role in driving worldwide digital and retail sales and has previously managed the Activision Consumer Products team. Prior to joining Activision, he spent 13 years with Unilever in a variety of sales, marketing and managerial roles.
Young will succeed Tim Kilpin, who is retiring and returning home to Wisconsin after a successful run launching the division and leading the team to significant growth.
“Simply stated, Steve is a world-class leader, and I am fully confident that he is the right person to continue to grow Activision Blizzard Consumer Products Group,” said Kilpin. “He is a seasoned Activision veteran with vast institutional knowledge, a strong understanding of our IP and key accounts, and has previously managed the consumer products team.”
“Activision Blizzard Consumer Products Group has delivered some remarkable achievements over the past two years, and I’m thrilled to be part of the division’s ongoing growth story” said Young. “I look forward to joining this incredibly talented team and continuing to extend our franchises into new categories and territories while offering our global fan community exciting and innovative ways to engage with the company’s iconic games and characters.”
