Sesame Workshop Names New Global Licensing Reps
Sesame Workshop has named new licensing representatives in three countries: IMG in China, Televisa Consumer Products in Mexico, and Kasmanas Licensing in Brazil.
In China, IMG will oversee key categories such as accessories, food and beverages, housewares, skincare and beauty, and book publishing. Since opening its China office three years ago, Sesame Workshop has built significant Sesame Street brand awareness through syndication of U.S. programming and Chinese New Year Special co-productions with CCTV Children’s Channel. In addition, Sesame Street programming is available on China’s online video platforms, reaching more than 100 million viewers countrywide. IMG also represents Sesame Street in Japan and South Korea.
In Mexico, Televisa Consumer Products will now oversee the Sésamo brand licensing.In Brazil, Kasmanas Licensing will be introducing the Sésamo brand. A newly revamped show, formerly known as Vila Sésamo, will start airing at the end of the year and will feature many Brazilian celebrities.
New UK Licensees for The Grinch
Rocket Licensing, which manages the UK consumer products program for the works of Dr. Seuss on behalf of Dr. Seuss Enterprises, announced the newest licensees for How The Grinch Stole Christmas.
Rocket signed housewares company Dreamtex for a line of Grinch bedding and IG Design Group is now on board to introduce a line of Christmas gift wrap. Boosting the Grinch’s seasonal apparel and accessories offering, Rocket appointed BCI to produce a range of kids’ nightwear, Brand International Group will launch its first line of adult and kids’ footwear including slippers, and Misirli is debuting a line of socks at Tesco this Christmas.
These newest additions will support a raft of new Christmas 2016 fashion ranges from existing licensees including Somerbond (adult nightwear and underwear) and Park Agencies (adult T-shirts, sweatshirts, and knitwear). The new lines will be available at retailers including Topshop, Primark, New Look, and Matalan in addition to grocers, Tesco and Asda.
