Warren Joins EA Board
Electronic Arts, Inc., announced that Denise Warren has been appointed to EA’s board of directors. Warren has also been appointed to EA’s audit committee.
Separately, director Gregory Maffei has decided that he will not stand for re-election to the board at the annual stockholders meeting to be held on July 31, 2013. After 10 years on the EA Board, he is resigning due to his commitments at Liberty Media.
Warren is the executive vice-president of the Digital Products and Services Group at The New York Times Company, overseeing operations for digital content and subscriptions. Previously, Warren served as general manager and chief advertising officer of the New York Times Media Group, where she managed operations for NYTimes.com and related digital and mobile products.
Javes, Via Upped at Toys “R” Us
Toys “R” Us, Inc., has announced the appointment of Andre Javes as managing director, Toys “R” Us, Australia. Javes oversees all operations and business activities for the company’s 35 stores, e-commerce site, corporate office, and more than 350 employees in Australia.
Javes returns to Toys “R” Us, Australia, having first joined the company in 2008 as general merchandise manager. He previously served as CEO at Anaconda Group Pty from 2009–2012, where he managed a retail chain of camping, outdoor, and adventure gear stores across Australia.
The company also announced that Tom Via, formerly managing director, Toys “R” Us, Australia, has been promoted to senior vice-president, juvenile, Toys “R” Us, U.S. In this role, he is responsible for providing leadership for the company’s juvenile growth strategy, including merchandise assortment, product pricing, promotions, and differentiated brand offerings for the company’s approximately 450 Babies “R” Us locations, including integrated store formats, as well as Babiesrus.com.
