Yummy You Comes to Stores
Twinkie Chan, creator of the Yummy You brand, has partnered with Bioworld to expand her handmade, food-shaped, crochet collection into a full line of apparel and accessories. Through a deal signed by Firefly Brand Management, Bioworld will bring Twinkie Chan from her Etsy store, to retailers nationwide.
Twinkie Chan’s signature crocheted scarves in fun food themes such as cupcakes, hamburgers, sushi, and green salads have become cult favorites in the crafty/DIY world and have been featured in print, on television, and online. After her creations gained popularity, Yummy You by Twinkie Chan was launched to make her handmade scarves accessible and affordable to a wider audience. Twinkie’s crochet book, Twinkie Chan’s Crochet Goodies for Fashion Foodies: 20 Yummy Treats to Wear was published in 2010.
Bioworld’s Yummy You product line will include apparel, headwear and cold weather accessories, bags, wallets, hosiery, and other accessories.
Strawberry Shortcake In South Africa
American Greetings Properties and licensing agent CPLG announced that they have appointed Character Licensing and Marketing (CLM) to represent licensing and merchandising rights for Strawberry Shortcake in South Africa. CLM has since secured a deal with Wimpy Restaurants for a Strawberry Shortcake QSR promotion in South Africa. Consumers will receive a Strawberry Shortcake-themed promotional product with the purchase of any Wimpy Food 4 Kids Meal through the end of this month.
All 450 Wimpy Restaurants in the region are participating in the promotion, including locations in South Africa, Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Swaziland, Mozambique, and Zambia. Throughout the month of December, consumers received an inflatable ball, guitar, microphone, air mattress or surfboard with each Food 4 Kids Meal purchase. During January, the premiums include back-to-school products such as a pencil case, a tin of crayons, a stationery set, a sketch pad with stickers, or a lunch box.
