Dr Seuss Enterprises and Random House Children’s Books Announce The Seuss Studios Inaugural List

Dr. Seuss Enterprises (DSE) and Random House Children’s Books (RHCB) has announced the lineup of authors and illustrators who will create the first original books inspired by Ted Geisel’s (aka Dr. Seuss) unpublished sketches and illustrations for Seuss Studios, a new line of books in the Dr. Seuss publishing program at RHCB announced in 2022. The first lineup of creators are Lala Watkins, Sarah Hwang, Jerrard K. Polk, and Avani Dwivedi. The inaugural title, HELLO, SUN! (Random House Books for Young Readers, ages 3–7, $9.99 US/$13.99 Can.) by Lala Watkins, will release on January 7, 2025, and is available for pre-order now. Inspired by never-before-seen sketches by Dr. Seuss, HELLO, SUN! tells a bright and playful story and encourages imaginative play as a worm, his friends, and the sun itself spend a day doing everything they can think of.

BBC Studios, distributor and licensor for the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning animated series Bluey, is once again expanding its licensing program with partner renewals and new licensees. The company has renewed its licensing deals for Bluey with Spin Master, Horizon Group and Jay Franco (U.S. and Canada). Additionally, TOMY International has expanded their Bluey lines, adding the Pop Up Bluey game (Global excl. Asia).

Licensing International Releases Executive Summary of 2024 Global Licensing Industry Study

Licensing International, the leading trade association for the $356+ billion global brand licensing industry, has released an executive summary of its 2024 Global Licensing Industry Study. The study shows the continued worldwide sales growth of licensed products and services across categories including fashion, entertainment, music, location-based entertainment, sports, and more. This year’s Global Licensing Industry Study will be published later this summer and was conducted by third-party research firm Brandar Consulting, LLC.

Konami Cross Media NY Inks Yu-Gi-Oh! Publishing Deals

Konami Cross Media NY, Inc’s Vice President of Licensing and Marketing Jennifer Coleman, who oversees the franchise’s licensing program, has confirmed two new publishing agreements for the Yu-GI-Oh! IP. In a move to bring publishing into the mass market for Yu-Gi-Oh!, Konami Cross Media NY has partnered with Landoll Publishing, a market leader to produce Yu-Gi-Oh! Inspired, high-quality coloring books and storybooks as well as sticker, puzzle and educational activity books. The Yu-Gi-Oh! publishing line is now available across U.S. and Canadian outlets.
